AvC Committee Chooses Keech Hospice as our Charity Partner 2026
02 March 2026
At the launch of Ampthill vs Cancer 2026, Keech Hospice was officially confirmed as one of the event’s charity partners – a decision rooted in the hospice’s unique role supporting children, adults and families across the community.
As one of only a small number of hospices in the UK caring for both adults and children, Keech Hospice plays a unique role in supporting families affected by cancer. From hospice care to support at home and in the community, Keech helps people live well, while ensuring comfort, dignity and choice when it matters most.
For the Ampthill vs Cancer organising team, who have all been personally affected by cancer, this breadth of care was a key reason for choosing Keech as a charity partner. Supporting children with life-limiting conditions, while also caring for adults and their families, reflects the reality of how cancer impacts entire families.
The need for this care has never been greater. More people are living longer with complex and serious illness, while health inequalities continue to affect access to support. Keech Hospice must raise £10 million every year to continue delivering its services, funding that enables expert medical care, emotional and psychological support, bereavement services, and round-the-clock advice for families when they need it most.
By partnering with Keech Hospice in 2026, Ampthill vs Cancer aims to help ensure this essential care remains available to children, adults and families across Bedfordshire and beyond, easing pressure on the NHS and giving families precious time, support and reassurance during the most difficult moments of their lives.
“We’re incredibly proud to be named as one of Ampthill vs Cancer’s charity partners for 2026. The support of community-led events like this makes a real and lasting difference to the children, adults and families we care for every day. Knowing that a local community has chosen to stand alongside Keech means so much to our teams and, most importantly, to the families who rely on our services at the most difficult times in their lives.” Alice Styles, Head of Public Giving, Keech Hospice.
“Keech Hospice stood out to us because of the scale and compassion of the work they do,” comments Dave Bateson, from Ampthill vs Cancer. “They support children, adults and families at their most vulnerable, and the fact they must raise £10 million every year to keep doing that is a powerful reminder of why community fundraising matters. We’re incredibly proud to support them.”
