13 Landmarks. One Incredible Community

11 June 2026

Following the incredible support for our first Ampthill vs Cancer event in 2025, we wanted to find new ways to make the 2026 5K even more memorable for everyone taking part.

That’s why this year we’re introducing 13 sponsored landmarks around the course at Ampthill Park.

As runners make their way around the 5K, they’ll now pass through a series of named landmarks and memorable moments designed to bring even more personality, atmosphere, energy, and encouragement to the route.

From the Start Straight and Railway Runway, to the emotional climb of the Hill of Hope, the reflective Memory Lane, and the final push through the Finish Chute, every section of the course has been designed to create moments that connect with the spirit of Ampthill vs Cancer.

The Finishers Bell carries a particularly powerful meaning within the course, inspired by the ringing of the bell that many cancer patients experience at the end of treatment. For so many people, it represents strength, resilience, relief, hope, and survival.

The landmark idea has come directly from the huge support surrounding Ampthill vs Cancer and the number of local businesses wanting to be involved in the event. With only 13 landmark spaces available, organisations from across the local community have stepped forward to help us create something truly memorable around the course while continuing to support our wider fundraising and community aims.

The landmarks are all about helping bring the route to life, creating visual, fun, inspiring, and memorable moments around the course for everyone taking part.

Each sponsor will help shape and bring personality to their section of the route, adding atmosphere, encouragement, and energy to the overall experience for runners, families, and supporters alike.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing each of the 13 landmarks and the fantastic local businesses helping bring them to life.
